A lot of the time, our periods are not present or are irregular due to an imbalance of our hormones. This blend of herbs can be taken to help the body rebalance estrogen and progesterone levels and regulate and/or bring on a delayed period.
Directions: Place 4-5 tablespoons in a jar or saucepan with 1 quart (1L) of hot or boiling water. Close the jar or put a lid on the saucepan. Allow to steep over night. This will be your daily allotment of tea. You can divide this into 3 cups a day or sip throughout the day. You may enjoy it hot or cold.
Ingredients: vitex berry, motherwort, dong quai, rosehips, lemongrass
Benefits of each herb
Vitex berry: Helps raise progesterone levels by stimulating the luteinizing hormone (LH) which triggers ovulation. Lowers prolactin levels which can help with PMS symptoms and irregular periods.
Motherwort: An emmenagogue and uterine tonic, this herb helps bring on delayed periods and regulate menstruation. May also help calm menstrual pain by both reducing spasms in the uterus and improving blood flow to the pelvis.
Dong quai: Promotes healthy blood flow to pelvic region which can assist in regular menstruation and alleviate menstrual discomfort. This herb also contains phytoestrogens which can help regulate periods caused by hormone imbalance
Rosehips: High in Vitamin C which helps absorb excess estrogen in the body which may be causing an irregular cycle. Promotes blood flow to pelvic region. May also help relieve other premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms, such as cramps, irritability, fatigue, and mood swings
